Three Memorial students compete at Oregon robotics tourney

Kristian Wyller, Opal Primoziach, Thomas ScholerOn January 10th and 11th, (left to right) Kristian Wyller, Opal Primozich and Thomas Scholer competed in their first state tournament for First Lego Robotics along with teams from all over the state. 

Their team, "The Random Targets," reached the state competition after qualifying as one of five teams to advance from a pool of 20 teams in their regional in December.  The teams were comprised of elementary and middle school students from all over the state of Oregon in 24 regional tournaments.  

They designed and programmed their robot through a challenge course that was judged for robot design, research project presentation and teamwork!  They had a strong showing at the state tournament, having a good time and picking up experience along the way!
